| In the narrow streets, in the centre
of old city of Rethymno, under the castle Forteza,
where the history, makes its presence intensive
with a breeze that caresses you, there you will
find the restaurant "The
Pigadi". The restaurant is inside the
yard of an old (16th century) Venetian building,
which was used as a stable. |
|
From 2003 the place operates as a restaurant.
The owner and chef of the restaurant Charis Pavlakis,
has managed to enlist the restaurant
in the 10 best of Crete according to the
international tourist guide "Rough guide".

| The building was completely destroyed
during the Turkish rule, except from the yard and
the exterior wall. There were found a well, a large
stone pond, a stone lion head and various other
items that date back to the 16th century. |

The beautiful decoration, the colourful yard and
the light Greek and foreign music, in combination
to the traditional Mediterranean recipes, create
an idyllic atmosphere that will drift you to a trip
you will want to repeat daily all the time. |
